Certified AI Practitioner (CAIP™) Programme Frequently Asked Questions

Certified AI Practitioner (CAIP™) Programme Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Certified AI Practitioner (CAIP™)?
CAIP™ is a career-defining certification designed to equip professionals to operate, make decisions, and lead effectively in an AI-enabled world. It focuses on building capability and judgement, not just teaching tools.

Is this an AI tools course?

No. CAIP™ is not positioned as tool training. While you will learn to use AI tools appropriately, the programme is designed to build clear thinking, decision quality, risk awareness, and leadership capability in AI-enabled work

Who is CAIP™ for?

CAIP™ is designed for professionals at all levels, including managers, team leaders, senior professionals who need to stay relevant, high performers/future leaders, and organisations upskilling teams.

What will I be able to do by the end of the certification?

By completion, participants can: understand how AI is reshaping roles and industries, operate effectively in AI-enabled work, use AI without losing judgement, improve decision-making using data and AI outputs, identify/manage AI risks, apply ethical thinking, manage complexity, and influence adoption within teams.

How long does the programme take?

The programme duration is 8–12 weeks.

How is the programme delivered?

CAIP™ is delivered through live virtual sessions, with optional in-person intensives, on-demand content, practical application tasks, and coaching support.

Is this certification practical or theoretical?

It is designed as a real-world, applied certification. Participants apply each module directly to their own role, team, and organisation. Producing outputs that drive real improvement and commercial value.

What are the modules covered in CAIP™?

There are five modules covering:

  • The AI landscape and the new world of work
  • Operating effectively in an AI-enabled role
  • Decision making, judgement and critical thinking
  • Ethics, risk, governance and responsibility
  • Leadership, influence and implementing AI in business

Is there a final project?

Yes. Participants complete a Final Project: a structured AI Capability Plan for their role or organisation, including current state analysis, AI opportunities, risks and mitigations, capability development needs, and recommended next steps.

How is the certification assessed?

Assessment is structured as: Practical Application (40%), Final Project (40%), and a Professional Discussion (20%) using scenario-based assessment grounded in the participant’s own business context.

What do I receive when I pass?

Successful participants receive the Certified AI Practitioner (CAIP™) certification. Positioned as a recognised signal of capability, credibility, and future-readiness.

Do I need technical experience or a data/AI background?

CAIP™ is designed for professionals, not technical specialists. It focuses on operating effectively, applying judgement, managing risk, and leading change in AI-enabled work. (If you want, you can add a short line on the page clarifying recommended comfort with digital tools, but the doc does not specify prerequisites.)

How much time will I need each week?

Delivery components take (8–12 weeks; live virtual + application tasks + on-demand + coaching). You’ll complete live sessions and practical application tasks alongside your day-to-day role.

Is this relevant if my organisation is still early in AI adoption?

Yes. Module 1 covers the AI landscape and what it means for roles and industries, and the programme addresses the reality that many organisations are not prepared and adoption can feel unstructured.

Does CAIP™ cover ethics and risk?

Yes. Module 4 focuses on ethics, risk, governance and responsibility, including privacy, misuse, accountability, and governance frameworks, with a risk/ethics report output.

Can this be delivered to teams (B2B)?

Yes. The programme is designed to scale as a team-wide upskilling solution and can act as an entry point into broader leadership and transformation work within organisations.

How is Actuate different from other providers?

Most providers focus on tools, prompts and features. Actuate’s CAIP™ focuses on capability, judgement, and leadership, the skills that remain valuable regardless of which tools change over time.
